Prefecto Juan Carlos FUENTES SANDOVAL, Director of Academia de Estudios Policiales.

He is a police officer who started his professional career in 1982. In 2007, he got a degree in Crime Investigation at Academia Superior de Estudios Policiales.

Mr. Fuentes has worked in different crime fields such as Intelligence Analisis; Crime Investigation; Abuse and Criminal Sexual Conduct; and Burglary. He has exercised his profession in Coyhaique, La Serena and Santiago

Mr Fuentes was Head of the Presidential Palace Brigade and he also held other managerial positions in several Policía de Investigaciones departments such us Good Practices, Control and Supervision; Regulation and Procedures; Intellectual Property Investigation.

In terms of in-service training courses, he got a Diploma in Sex Crime Investigation and Professional Support in Academia de Estudios Policiales (ASEPOL,2000). He got a degree in Security and Defense at Academia Nacional de Estudios Políticos y Estratégicos. (ANEPE, 2008). He took special PDI courses dealing with Economic Crime and Burglary (Chile, 2002). He participated in a Relevant Case Investigation Course taught by the FBI (2002) and a Drug Trafficking and Organized Crime Course ran by BKA (1993).

He took courses in Law matters at Universidad Austral (1999) and at Universidad de Los Lagos (2001), where he also participated in courses about emotional intelligence; human relations; development of communicative skills; and leadership.
